Why Shalom?

The Hebrew word “shalom” is rich and vibrant, conveying God’s desire for our overall well-being. Shalom is about the fullness of God’s love, peace, hope and grace, and the human longing for inner peace and harmonious relationships. Church and organizational leaders who preach and lead are as likely as others to be living without the fullness of shalom.

What Are The Center's Mission And Goals?

The Mission of the Shalom Center is to advance the Kingdom of God by serving the Body of Christ through the improved health of its leaders, culture, relationships and structures. The Goals of the Center are: 1. To provide a safe place for ministry leaders to be their authentic selves, without fear of retribution or judgement, through mentoring and spiritual coaching. 2.  To provide consultative services which are uniquely focused on the person and values of Jesus Christ and his desire that the Kingdom of God will come to bear on earth as in heaven. 3. To assist churches and organizations in times of crisis and conflict, that healing may occur and the mission advance. 4. To ultimately place ministry leaders on a renewed and sustained trajectory of vital contribution in service to God and humanity.

Why Is There A Need For These Services?

Faith Leaders often lack someone to whom they can turn -- a safe place to process the challenges of their personal and professional lives. Research confirms that most leaders suffer in silence, lacking a fellow traveler in whom they can safely confide. Churches and Organizations frequently get tunnel vision, failing to objectively assess adherence to their mission and values. Worst case scenarios include ongoing, unresolved conflict which becomes distracting and debilitating. Crises in leadership can result when issues are left unaddressed and unresolved.
