For 45 minutes every two weeks, Gary will engage by phone or video conference. These confidential conversations will focus on the inner life of the leader, as well as addressing personal and organizational challenges.
The Shalom center will lead a process to include: 1. An assessment of the community, including both demographics and psychographics 2. Interaction and interviews with pastors and church leaders 3. Analysis of the facilities and ministry programs 4. Analysis of key church metrics 5. Stewardship and financial analysis 6. Discovery of growth and/or ministry obstacles and opportunities 7. An outsider’s perspective on the worship services 8. Transformational Church Survey to discern member perceptions 9. Recommendations for immediate and long-term action steps (Follow up coaching is available)
This intensive six-month process includes a leadership retreat and monthly sessions to dream and imagine a hopeful new future for the church or organization.
Often staff evaluations can become challenging and adversarial. This need not be, as the Shalom Center can provide the necessary buffer so that substantive issues can be addressed in a constructive manner.
The first year of the new pastor’s ministry can often set the tone for their entire tenure. Having a Shalom Center mentor checking in regularly, to provide counsel and feedback can assist in setting a course for a long and successful pastorate.
When left unaddressed, conflict can be distracting and debilitating. A healthy church or organization does not allow conflict to fester and recognizes when a third-party mediator is required.
Boards can often go through the motions, lacking the necessary skills and training to effectively govern and manage the church or organization. The Shalom Center can provide practical help to leadership groups wishing to govern more effectively.
When a leadership crisis occurs, having the services of an objective and experienced advisor is essential. With the Shalom Center on-site to deal with complex issues, the church or organization is better able to deal with the crisis and aftermath.
Gary is available to speak at your worship service or event on topics like pastoral health, church health, leadership, and conflict.
